Introduction

What is Compounding Rewards Yield (CRY)?

Compounding Rewards Yield (CRY%) is a new way for Plutus customers to earn even more rewards on their PLU.

To get started, just earn some PLU and keep it in the app, or connect a wallet with PLU (this is called 'stacking'). Once you’re stacking, you’ll start earning CRY, which adds to your PLU rewards every day. The more PLU you have stacked and the higher your reward level, the more CRY you earn. These rewards stay in your pending balance and become available to you after 12 months.

Plus, you get a bonus every year! Starting in year 1, your CRY gets doubled, and this multiplier keeps increasing each year—up to 5x by year 5. 

This means that the longer you keep your PLU stacked, the more your rewards grow, all without having to spend anything on your card!

How do I start earning CRY?

Reward Levels

The percentage yield you earn depends on your Reward Level. Currently there are seven reward levels which can be unlocked by stacking PLU. These levels provide between 3-9% Reward Card and CRY rates, along with other benefits.

Sub-Levels

Each reward level has sub-tiers which increase your CRY incrementally. The more you earn and stack, the higher your earning rates get. See the Hero sub-level example below.

How does CRY work? (Stacking & Payout Process)

Auto-Stacking Activation‍

Once you unlock a Reward Level, any PLU you earn and keep in the app, or any balance in a connected wallet, counts towards stacking and starts earning CRY right away. You’ll receive a notification or email, and the stacking counter will show up on your rewards dashboard.

Stacking Duration‍

You need to keep stacking your PLU (including rewards) for 12 months. The CRY stacking counter will guide you through a 30-day stacking period, which continues for up to 10 years.

CRY Payout Structure‍

You receive PLU daily based on your stack and reward level status. These daily PLU issuance go into your ‘Pending’ balance and can’t be accessed until the 12-month period is over.

Payout Availability‍

After 12 months of stacking, all your daily PLU rewards are added up and move from ‘Pending’ to ‘Available.’ As a bonus, this total gets a multiplier, which stays in ‘Pending’ for 6 more months before moving to ‘Available’ in month 18. During this time, it also counts towards year 2 CRY calculations, contributing to earning more rewards.

How much CRY can I earn?

The CRY tracker on the reward level dashboard is now live, allowing customers  stacking PLU since August 1, 2024,  to track their progress and see their daily PLU earnings added to their 'Pending' balance as their stack grows.

CRY Earnings Breakdown: 12 Month Scenario 

In the CRY earnings scenario, you start at the Chad tier, earning 3% CRY on 1000 PLU for 11 months. Then, you upgrade to the Hero tier, where you earn 4% CRY on 2000 PLU until month 12, and you receive a multiplier bonus for all your CRY earnings from the year.

CRY Earnings Breakdown: 10 Year Scenario 

CRY payouts last up to 10 years, with the multiplier capped at 5 years. To keep things simple, this example excludes rewards from spending, perks, or referrals, and focuses solely on earning PLU through Compounding Rewards Yield, starting with 50,000 PLU at the Titan level.

‍Summary:

• Years 1-5: The multipliers boost your earnings significantly, starting with a doubling effect and increasing up to 5x by Year 5.
  
  
• Years 6-10: While there’s no multiplier, you still earn the regular compounding yield each year, resulting in consistent growth.
  
  
• Total PLU After 10 Years: 422,082.46 PLU

The key takeaway is that the first five years with multipliers provide a massive boost to your PLU earnings, while the compounding effect in later years continues to grow your total steadily, even without the multiplier

Additional Questions

Is CRY Self-Sustainable?

Absolutely! Plutus has introduced a feature called FUEL. Once it goes live, a 5% fee will be applied to all on-chain sales and transfers of PLU. The PLU collected from these fees will be added back into the rewards pool, allowing customers to re-earn it. Experts formerly at BCG and a team from Ernst & Young (EY) have reviewed our tokenomics and confirmed that these additional rewards are 100% self-sustainable, with no need to mint new tokens or increase the supply.

Is CRY Currently Live?

Yes, you may already be earning CRY! 
Simply login to your Reward Level dashboard to see your daily earnings. 

Important Note: Only customers currently on an existing Reward Level (i.e., Chad or higher) are currently earning CRY rewards. To start earning CRY, you must be on a Reward Level.

Do I need to be on a Reward Level to earn CRY?

Lower Reward Levels were included in the Whitepaper so why am I not earning CRY?

The lower reward levels, which include earning CRY, are being released later due to their unique front-loading features for new customers, as decided by a community vote that received over 67% approval. If you’re stacking <1000 PLU and not on a reward level, you won't be earning CRY at this time. I am not on a Reward Level but I am stacking <1000 PLU, how can I earn CRY?

If you were on a Reward Level before August 1, you may be eligible to upgrade using past PLU reward earnings. Our recent audit by Haggards & Crowthers shows that over 80% of Hero and Veteran customers have tripled their original stack, enabling them to unlock higher tiers like "Chad."

Why am I not earning CRY?

Once you unlock a Reward Level, you should start earning PLU every day. If you don’t see any CRY earnings, it might be because you broke the rules, which don’t allow you to destack.

Why did I lose my CRY earnings?

If you were earning CRY before but don’t see anything in your ‘pending’ CRY tracker now, it means you lost your earnings. This could happen for two reasons:

1. You requested payouts for your earned PLU rewards.
2. You removed your stack from connected wallets.

In order to keep earning CRY and request a payout of your earnings without being penalised, you need to continue stacking for 12 months. Please see your dashboard tracker for your daily progress.

I pay a subscription fee and I'm on a Reward Level, so why does CRY have stacking terms?

Your CRY earnings depend on how much PLU you earn from using your Plutus Card, the Perks you receive, and additional benefits like Golden Tickets in the app. It also considers how much PLU you have in your connected wallet.

To keep your CRY earnings and request payouts for the extra PLU, you need to stack your rewards in-app or in connected wallets for 12 months. Completing this stacking period unlocks yearly CRY earnings for payouts and activates the Multiplier bonus in your CRY dashboard.
