What Intrinsic Value PlutusMiles Offers Per PLU

Redeeming PLU unlocks the ability to acquire miles at significantly discounted rates. Rather than directly swapping PLU for miles, you redeem PLU to activate this feature, granting access to miles at rates far lower than traditional purchase methods. This redemption gives each PLU token an intrinsic value of at least £/€10 through savings.

During the beta release, the intrinsic value is even higher. Here’s how the numbers stack up in the current beta release:

Note: The cost to acquire each mile as based on official data has been lowered from its universal cost of £0.523 to £0.115, to make the structure easier to understand.

The £100 Intrinsic Value Explained

During the MVP phase, redeeming 1 PLU unlocks the ability to purchase 1,000 miles at a deeply discounted rate of just £/€0.015 per mile—significantly lower than the standard price offered by Etihad Guest. This redemption value aligns with the Plutus 2024 Whitepaper.

The savings from acquiring miles at these exclusive Plutus rates translate to an intrinsic value of £100 per PLU token during the MVP phase. During this time, a limit of 5,000 miles per customer applies.

In Q1 2025, Plutus will remove purchase limits, making the system scalable while maintaining a baseline intrinsic value of £10 per PLU. The future state will look like this:
