The minimum £/€10 emissions anchor ensures that PLU rewards maintain a reliable and sustainable redemption value for customers within the app.

Unlike the legacy reward system, which depended on unreliable external sources that failed to reflect PLU's true intrinsic worth, this system anchors emissions to real, utility-driven value within the app. As a result, PLU earned through card spending holds a tangible redemption value of £/€10—aligned with real-world spending and benefits.

This system also keeps the PLU supply steady and unaffected by external factors, ensuring a fair and reliable experience for stackers and customers who use in-app utilities.

Why Was This Implemented?

After the community vote approved the sustainability-focused Plutus 2024 whitepaper, the reward system was refined to introduce timeless sustainability through anchored utilities:

PlutusTravel offers up to 15% cashback on travel bookings when using PLU rewards, making it a powerful way to save on hotels, flights, and more. By anchoring emissions at £/€10, PlutusTravel ensures that rewards maintain a reliable and valuable redemption rate.

Below is price comparison analysis for hotel bookings and savings provided to customers. As with other features, we’re securing licenses that will allow us to source even better rates and enhance the customer experience once we move past the initial BETA phase.

PlutusSwap:

While there is currently a fee as this feature is still aligned with external rates, the PLU being swapped on it was also earned at external rates. Now that our transition is complete and sustainable emissions are secured, we can focus on aligning all utilities for PLU earned post-20th February.

Anchor Coming in Q2 2025 – PlutusSwap & Card Top-Ups

In Q2 2025, the £/€10 emissions rate will align with PlutusSwap (terms will apply), enabling customers to top up their Plutus Card with PLU rewards directly in-app and spend them on their next shop.

This ensures a seamless experience and greater flexibility with your PLU. As our Founder & CEO Danial Daychopan explains:
