What is Pluton (PLU)?

‍Pluton (PLU) is a loyalty reward token conceptualised in 2015 by Plutus Founder Danial Daychopan. It was created to reward everyday spending, leveraging groundbreaking blockchain technology in its early stages. This innovation has since delivered up to £50m in tangible in-app rewards to nearly 150,000 customers and counting. It has also paved the way for tokenising everyday assets, now common in fintech and beyond.

Unlike traditional loyalty systems that are often restrictive, PLU gives holders the freedom to use rewards in-app for tangible savings or stack them in self-custody to compound and earn even more. This flexibility offers true ownership, thanks to Web3—something that legacy systems lack.

Pluton rewards for customers are reconciled and overseen by regulated partner organisations. Below are the details of the reconciliation process:

Does Plutus Treasury Own PLU?

Plutus also holds PLU in its treasury, separate from the rewards pool reserved exclusively for customer rewards. This PLU was allocated to us by the community in 2020 and remains in our treasury. It is occasionally used for the following purposes:

Marketing campaigns (e.g., additional PLU issued for Metal extensions or third-party promotional services).
Sales to regulated B2B partners via OTC (Over-the-Counter) upon their request to meet demand.

These transactions are conducted securely, either sent to offline wallets or transferred to their centralised accounts on third-party services.
