What is the Pluton Rewards Pool?‍

The Pluton Rewards Pool is a special wallet secured in cold storage that holds all available PLU rewards for Plutus customers. When you earn PLU rewards on Plutus, they come from this pool and appear in your PLU balance within the app. However, these rewards remain in the pool until you take actions like: 

  • Requesting a PLU payout to an external wallet
  • Swapping them on PlutusSwap
  • Redeeming them for other utilities (e.g., PlutusMiles, PlutusGifts).

Why is PLU removed from the Pluton Rewards Pool when I redeem or swap?‍

When you swap PLU on PlutusSwap, the tokens are taken out of the Pluton Rewards Pool because you’ve earned and chosen to swap them. This process transfers your balance to a counterparty, effectively moving the PLU into external circulation. The same applies when you redeem PLU for award miles or gift cards—your redeemed PLU is taken from the Rewards Pool and added to the circulating token supply.

What types of Rewards Pools are there?‍

The Pluton Rewards Pool has two wallets: 

  1. Cold Storage Wallet: Holds the majority of PLU rewards and is securely stored offline.
  2. Hot Wallets (FireBlocks-secured): Used for daily customer requests and redemptions.

Why do we share regular PLU transaction logs?‍

Each quarter, PLU is transferred from cold storage to the hot wallet to handle customer payouts and redemptions. A portion of this PLU is allocated to the utility wallet, which is used for liquidity provision to support customers’ reward redemptions on PlutusSwap and across utilities. The hot wallet fulfills these requests, adding redeemed PLU to the circulating supply as needed. 

For transparency, Plutus shares logs detailing all PLU transactions from customer swaps on PlutusSwap and redemptions across utilities (e.g., award miles, gift cards). These records are audited quarterly by regulated accountants, Haggards & Crowther, to ensure accuracy.

Which Liquidity Provider are you using?

Our liquidity provider (LP) is a digital asset trading firm that is regulated and registered with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). They operate as a regulated liquidity provider for cryptocurrency funds, token foundations, institutional investors, and primary token issuers such as Plutus. Their offerings include facilitating aggregated liquidity for counterparties like Plutus.

Recently, the LP was acquired by one of the largest players in the cryptocurrency market-making space. This strategic development enables Plutus to enhance its outreach to institutional investors. For contractual reasons, we are unable to disclose partnership specifics publicly; however, regulated partners and authorities have access to detailed information in all our filings.

Engaging a liquidity provider for utilities is essential to deliver the best possible user experience for our customers. We are able to pre-fund the Swaps/Plutus Utility accounts so that your redemptions are seamless. Our LP earns its fees to warehouse PLU token risk while running low impact algorithm which does not impact the price of PLU, benefitting our users.
