Whitepaper Vote

What is the vote about?

We recently unveiled our future proposed plans for Plutus, including enhanced tokenomics, compounding yield, and new token utilities. As a community-centered company, we’re inviting our community to help decide our future direction through two questions:

1. White Paper Vote: Vote on the white paper plans (yes/no)
2. Blockchain Survey Survey submission on what type of blockchain to move to (L1, L2, or Plutus L2)

How will the voting results be used?

• White Paper Vote: The vote on the White Paper Plans will be final and will determine whether we proceed with the proposed changes.
• Blockchain Survey: The survey results will be used alongside other supporting research to help decide which blockchain Plutus should migrate/bridge to. Your input is valuable in shaping the future of our platform.

Am I eligible to vote?

To participate in the vote, you must:

1. Be a Plutus Customer: Only Plutus customers with an account are eligible to vote.
2. Meet Minimum PLU Requirements: You must have at least 50 PLU stacked. This includes your ‘available’ internal PLU balance and your external PLU balance in a connected wallet. Any PLU in ‘pending’ status is excluded.
3. Must be an Active Customer: Only active customers are eligible to participate in this vote. This ensures that those who are familiar with the current product and actively engaged in our services have the opportunity to shape its future. By involving engaged users, we ensure that the decisions made reflect the needs and preferences of those who regularly use and understand the platform.

If I meet the eligibility requirements after the vote has already started, do I become eligible?

No, eligibility was verified as of 26th July, 23:59 UTC. If you met the requirements after this date and time, you are not eligible to participate in the vote.

When is the vote?

The vote will take place between:

• Start: Saturday, 27th July
• End: Wednesday, 31st July, 14:00 BST - Voting Extended!

How does the vote work?

All eligible participants will receive login information for Election Runner, a transparent, blockchain-based voting platform we are using to host the vote. Simply:

1. Check your email for your login details.
2. Click on the provided button or link to access the voting platform.
3. Enter your login details.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to cast your vote.

I believe I’m eligible but did not receive the login information?

If you are certain you met the requirements before 26th July, 23:59 UTC and should be eligible to vote, please contact support here. If eligible, we will manually share login credentials for you to participate.

Is the Voting Weighted?

Yes, the voting is weighted. 1 PLU is equal to 1 vote. For example, if you have 1,000 PLU, you can cast 1,000 votes. You are not paying in PLU; the amount of PLU stacked simply determines the number of votes you can cast. This is our way of rewarding bigger holders of PLU.

How is Plutus preventing gamification?

To ensure fair voting, measures are in place to identify and exclude any suspicious activity, ensuring genuine participation and preventing vote manipulation. Election Scanner, our transparent blockchain voting platform, also has built-in mechanisms to avoid gamification. Customers caught attempting to game the system may be subject to account closure.

When will the results be available?

The results will be released within 24 hours of the end of the vote. They will be shared alongside the next steps so customers are aware of the upcoming changes.
